Know details of property tax in order to avoid any penalty

In general, the homeowner will receive the property tax bill between September and October each year.

The property tax to be paid is from July 1st of the current year to June 30th of the following year.

After receiving the property tax bill, please pay attention to the payment deadline on the tax bill.

Be sure to pay on time, there will be a 10% penalty if you are overdue.

If you have not received your property tax bill,  you can contact your local tax office or check it online at the county’s website.

Property tax is paid in two installments per year.

The first time is due on November 1st, and the grace period is before 5:00 pm on December 10th.

The second time is due on February 1st, and the grace period is before 5:00 pm on April 10th.

In order to avoid fines, everyone must complete the payment before the grace period

If the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, it will be postponed to the next working day.

How to pay property taxes

There are basically four ways to pay property taxes:

  1. Make a payment via Phone. phone payment
  2. Make a payment via mailing. When mailing a check, the amount must be filled in correctly, otherwise the payment will fail. 
  3. Make a payment in person. Go to the local tax bureau, pay on the site,
  4. Make a payment online. Pay on the official website of the Local Taxation Bureau, which is fast, convenient, safe and worry-free.
